Welcome to our piano studio! Our Policy and FAQ's are below.

PRIVACY: We value your privacy and do not share any of your personal information with third parties. When you contact us, all of your personal information remains confidential. Piano Agreement forms will be sent to you via email once you register. This website is a resource for convenient access to our Studio Policy, Schedule, and Guidelines.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS:

Parents are welcome to take photos or videos of their own children playing piano during the lesson, or of their child during our recital and masterclasses. From time to time, I may take photos or videos during lessons, masterclasses, or recitals to celebrate student progress and share the joy of music learning on my studio website, social media, or printed materials. However, I will never share photos or videos without written parent and student consent.

SAFETY & LIABILITY WAIVER: Our lessons take place in a beautiful church sanctuary. For safety and to respect church property, climbing building structures, handrails or trees, and activities such as skateboarding or bike riding on church paths are prohibited. By registering for lessons, families agree to release the church and piano teacher from liability should injuries occur.

PRIVATE LESSON FORMATS:

  • 30-minute private lessons (standard for most students)

  • 60-minute private lessons (ideal for advanced students, adults, or those seeking more in-depth guidance)

If you're interested in moving to a longer lesson format, I’m happy to discuss what would best support your goals.

LESSON TIME: Lessons begin and end promptly at the scheduled time. Since lessons often happen back-to-back, we cannot extend lesson times to accommodate late arrivals.

SEMESTER MEMBERSHIP & TUITION: Each semester includes 15 weeks of lessons, three masterclasses, and a piano recital and reception, included in your membership. Private piano lessons are available in 30-minute or 60-minute sessions. A semester with 30-minute lessons costs $600; with 60-minutes lessons, the cost is $1200.

PAYMENT: We accept cash, check, Zelle, or PayPal (no fee through Friends & Family, if connected to your bank account). Semester rates are due by your first lesson. Late payments will incur a $25 processing fee.

ATTENDANCE & CANCELLATIONS:

Your lesson time is reserved just for you, and I prepare individually for each student. To keep the schedule running smoothly and to give each student the best experience possible, at this time, make-up lessons are not available. However:

  • Students are invited to attend free monthly masterclasses to share pieces, get extra feedback, and be inspired by others. These are designed as a built-in opportunity for connection, review, and bonus learning.

  • If I need to cancel a lesson, you will receive a refund or a lesson credit toward the next semester.

  • In rare or serious situations (family emergency, medical crisis, etc.), I’m always open to a private conversation about options.

  • If you know you’ll need to miss a lesson, please let me know as soon as possible. While I don’t offer make-ups, your notice allows me to use that time productively and to understand how best to support you. Whether it’s a travel conflict, illness, or just a busy week, I appreciate the heads-up!

Thank you for understanding that this structure allows me to focus on high-quality teaching and support customized for every student.

LESSON GUIDELINES:

1.   Please arrive a few minutes early. A water fountain and bathrooms are available.

2.   To keep students healthy and maintain the piano and Sanctuary space, we ask that you wash hands and wipe your feet on the front mat. It is not necessary to remove shoes unless they would stain the floors.

3.   Parents, you are welcome to bring your other children or friends to the private lessons, as long as they will not distract the student. Lessons are one-on-one, to support optimal learning.

MASTERCLASSES:

Each semester includes three, one-hour complimentary masterclasses for children, and three for adults—a fun, encouraging way to share pieces, get feedback, and stay inspired as a group.

To ensure everyone has time to play and receive feedback, masterclasses are limited to 8 students and require students to sign up at least 24 hours prior. This allows me to prepare enough materials for the students. They are first-come, first-served, so I recommend signing up early!

*Complimentary masterclasses are for enrolled students only.

FAQ's

FAQ:

Q: Do you offer 45-minute lessons?
A: Our studio offers 30-minute or 60-minute lessons. This helps keep the schedule simple and efficient for everyone. If you're unsure which is right for you or your child, I’d be happy to talk it through with you!

Q: What if we have to miss a lesson?
A: If you have to miss for any reason, we are here to help you stay on track. While our studio does not provide make-up lessons, you can sign up for our free, one-hour masterclasses, which are a great way to stay engaged and get feedback. Please let us know as soon as you can so we can best support your needs. There is no cancellation fee.

Q: Why are make-ups not available anymore?

A: I am not able to offer this option for several reasons. 1. The Sanctuary space has other scheduled activities, which pose challenges and limitations for scheduling make-ups. 2. Our studio has grown (happily!), but this means that it is increasingly difficult to offer make-ups to all students in a fair manner. 3. Scheduling make-ups takes a considerable amount of my time, which I'd rather focus on quality instruction. 4. In my experience, scheduling make-ups can pose an additional stress on families. Having built-in masterclasses takes the guesswork out of scheduling and allows families to address the issue at hand, such as an illness or other situation that caused the cancellation to happen.

Q: What happens if the teacher misses a lesson?
A: If I have to cancel a lesson for any reason, you will receive a refund or a credit for the next semester.

Q: What are your payment options?

A. We have set up our payment options to avoid extra payment processing fees for our students, and to keep costs affordable for our families. Our studio accepts Zelle, Paypal, cash or check, due on the first day of lessons to avoid a late fee. To avoid fees when using Paypal, please make sure you have Paypal linked to your bank account or fund the payment with your PayPal balance.

Q: Can I pay monthly?
A: At this time, tuition is billed per semester (15 weeks of lessons), with payment due at the beginning of the semester.

Q: What if we have to withdraw due to an emergency?
A: If your family experiences an unforeseen hardship or major schedule disruption, please contact me directly so we can talk through a fair solution.
